The Interior Secretariat of the department of Córdoba announced an increase in military and police presence during the long weekend from June 29 to July 1. The measure seeks to guarantee safety and coexistence on the roads and tourist places of the department.
Gabriel Méndez, Secretary of the Interior and Citizen Participation, reported that preventive controls will be carried out on the roads to verify compliance with traffic regulations. In addition, drivers and passengers will be provided with assistance during their journeys.
The security operation will be intensified especially in the municipalities of Sahagún and San Pelayo, where local festivities will be held. Authorities expect an increase in the flow of visitors to these and other tourist locations in the department.
“Security is guaranteed. We will have the support of the public force on the main, secondary and tertiary roads,” said Méndez. The official called on citizens to drive responsibly and respect traffic rules.
The deployment of security forces will cover not only the roads, but also the busiest places in the department. This strategy seeks to prevent incidents and maintain public order during the festive period.
Authorities recommend travelers plan their trips in advance, considering the possible increase in vehicular traffic. It is also advisable to pay attention to the instructions of the authorities on the roads and checkpoints.
