From June 28 to July 1, 2024, Bogotá will implement the exodus plan to guarantee the safety of thousands of travelers during the festive long weekend of San Pedro and San Pablo. For this, The Mobility Secretariat has launched a special operation in the exit and entry corridors of the city.

According to the Bogotá Mayor’s website, it is estimated that 1,060,000 cars and motorcycles will leave the capital, while 1,100,000 vehicles will enter during the weekend.

To inform citizens, the Traffic Management Center (CGT) will constantly monitor entrances and exits, measuring average speeds and vehicle volumes. In addition, more than 1,300 officers, including Traffic Police, Civil Traffic Agents and the Guide Group, will be deployed on the roads to control traffic and prevent accidents.

This year, passenger movement represents an increase of 15% compared to the same holiday in 2023. On the other hand, the largest influx is expected on Saturday, June 29, with 113,000 travelers, according to the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá.

Regional Peak and Plate

On Monday, July 1, 2024, the regional peak and plate will apply for entry to Bogotá. Between 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm vehicles with license plates ending in even numbers (0, 2, 4, 6 and 8) may enter. From 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Entry will be for odd plates (1, 3, 5, 7 and 9). Outside of these times there will be no restrictions.

The nine corridors where the regional peak and plate operate are:

  • North Freeway: from the Andes toll to the northern portal of the TransMilenio system, in a north-south direction.
  • South highway: from the municipal limit of Soacha to Boyacá Avenue, in a south-north direction.
  • Centennial Avenue (13th Street): from the Bogotá River to Ciudad de Cali Avenue (Carrera 86 Avenue), in a west-east direction.
