Citizens had reported a series of threats that they experienced in the middle of the crossfire between the EMC and the Second Marquetalia, situation for which former President Juan Manuel Santos asked the Government to speed up.

“What is happening in Miravalle with the EMC is totally unacceptable. The Government has the obligation to implement the security guarantees established in the Peace Agreementregain control of the territory, and protect the lives of the signatories and the communities committed to building peace,” said the former president through X.

The government urged the EMC to stop the threats, “actions contrary to any manifestation of the will for peace”and assured that he will continue working in coordination with the Ombudsman’s Office, the UN Mission and the MAPP-OAS to monitor the PMU.
