Saesa has delivered eight free charging totems for phones in Los Ríos

This initiative is part of the community outreach program “Conecta tu Energía” (Connect your Energy) that allows residents to stay connected with their charged cell phones. One was recently installed in the town of Lastarria.

With the aim of generating real, close solutions that help residents stay connected in the different communes of the Los Ríos Region, Saesa has delivered eight charging totems in the area, to which is added the recently inaugurated one in the Health Center in the town of Lastarria in the commune of Gorbea in the La Araucanía Region. This initiative is part of the “Conecta tu Energía” community linkage program and has been replicated in different communes in the south of the country with the aim of providing the community with a charging point for their mobile devices in high-traffic places such as centers health, bus terminals, among others.

Álvaro Millaqueo, executive of Saesa, highlighted that “through this program, neighbors, relatives and workers from health centers, hospitals, bus terminals and libraries can charge their cell phones safely and free of charge, thus making the waiting times in emergency rooms, which can often be long, more bearable. At Saesa we have a real motivation to connect with the needs of the community.”

Rolando Muñoz, director of the Lastarria Health Center, highlighted that “this contribution was a surprise for everyone. It has been very beneficial, it has brought a lot of joy, and on the toughest days many come to use them, because it allows communication to be greatly improved. Many times some leave in a hurry and their cell phones are discharged, so it has been a very important support for users and officials,” he explained, highlighting that there are nearly four thousand people registered in this healthcare facility.

In the Los Ríos region, the electricity company has installed eight of these devices free of charge in hospitals and care centers in the communes of Corral, Máfil, La Unión, Lanco, Futrono, Paillaco, Los Lagos and Mariquina to be used by the users in waiting rooms.
