After a frenetic start full of inaccuracies, Atlético del Rosario entered the flow of the game and found itself comfortable in a tense match. That posture was amply demonstrated in the first counterattack by the locals, which ended up disorganizing the defense and creating the perfect scenario for Ezequiel Reyes’ finish. The good moment was amplified after a couple of good defenses by the Rosario team just meters from their goal.
Although CUBA was CUBA and managed to break the 0-0 with a try by Lucas Campion, the first half continued to be played in Atlético del Rosario’s terms. The Plaza Jewell team maintained the lead thanks to a goal by Matías Malano, which came from a lineout and a powerful maul. The calmness of the 17-7 partial and the composure to continue defending in an orderly manner and without succumbing to CUBA’s pressure were the defining elements for the Rosario team to go into halftime with a comfortable result.

Added to the bulky result was another situation that ended up unraveling the match, but for both teams. In a fortuitous play, Santiago Casals went to look for the ball after an exit and, in an attempted tackle, generated a strong head collision with Marcos Eliçagaray. Both players received the blue card due to the concussion protocol and Casals received the red card. With Segundo Pisani’s final try, CUBA closed the blinds and achieved another victory, this time 38-17, against Atlético del Rosario, which closed the first round without wins.
