Coquimbo Kingdom moves into the Chile Cup semi-finals

Coquimbo Unido completed its task in the quarterfinals of the Copa Chile, advancing to the semifinals of the Northern Zone. The Pirata team defeated its counterpart from Trasandino in the Second Division of national football 1-0 (2-1 on aggregate) in the rematch played at noon today at the Francisco Sánchez Rumoroso Stadium.

The only goal of the match was scored by youth player Martín Mundaca, at 13′, who took advantage of an excellent play on the left side of the attack in which Cabrera, Bruno and Sebastián participated, the latter reaching the goal line to set up the attacker, who overcame the resistance of goalkeeper Andrés Fernández, one of the good figures of the visiting team and of the match, with a cross shot.

Although the victory of Fernando Díaz’s team does not deserve discussion, the Buenos Aires players themselves recognized that they showed their usual game only in the first half hour of play, falling into a lethargy from which they could not escape.

Although striker Chávez missed a clear opportunity to increase the score at 24′, the match, until the end of the first half, was played in the black and gold field and near Miguel Pinto’s goal, who prevented the tie in a one-on-one with striker Pablo Brito, at 45′.

The second half did not vary in intensity at all. The Pirata team was erratic with the ball, and had a hard time being effective in the last play when they managed to get past the Los Andes team, which contributed to the score not being increased, although Ramón Climent’s team, despite the closeness of the score, was unable to damage the black and gold defense.

In the semi-finals of the federation tournament, the bearded team will face Cobresal, after the defeat of Copiapó.
