Martinez, 20, died from serious injuries. Gómez, 27, was transferred to a healthcare center, where she remains with a reserved prognosis..

“What hurts the most is that they, being from the same trade, could have helped the friend who fell off the motorcycle when he ran over the girl. Why didn’t they do the same for Karen and my daughter?” questioned Alexander Gómez, dad, in a chat with Caracol News.

What happened to the bikers involved in the accident on the Sibaté – Soacha road?

There were 11 motorcyclists on the road, according to Óscar Villamarín, the lawyer representing four of them. The latter have already gone before the authorities to give their version of what happened.

“They were part of the ride, but they were not involved in the accident. They made themselves available to the Prosecutor’s Office so that the investigation can move forward,” explained Villamarín, in dialogue with Citytv.

The four motorcyclists who appeared at the Prosecutor’s Office have received death threats through social networks and calls, according to their attorney. So they also filed a complaint for that reason.

“They are good boys, students, workers, and their image is being damaged on social media because they are implicating all of them in the accident, the whole group, when that is not the case,” he said.

The case remains under investigation to analyze the drivers’ versions and establish the responsibility of the other seven who were traveling on the Sibaté road.

Andrés Martínez, Karen’s father, revealed that the authorities have already identified those involved: “The full weight of the law.”

For this reason, the ANSV constantly calls on drivers to respect traffic regulations and not exceed speed limits in order to ensure the safety of everyone on the country’s roads.
