He deliberative Council of The Silver approved the placement of a plaque in City Bell in tribute to a well-known stray dog who died some time ago. The measure was implemented through an ordinance that seeks to make visible the community work in caring for stray dogs and in a gesture of recognition of the solidarity work of the neighbors.
The draft ordinance presented them Lucia Barbierresident of City Bell and councilwoman Together for Changeat the request of the neighbors who knew the history of the animal, very popular in the area near the Belgrano Squarelocated at Calle 473 and 14 B, where a plaque will now be placed in tribute to Romeo.
“We approved an Ordinance for the placement of a plaque in the Plaza Belgrano in City Bell in honor of Romeo, a dog much loved and recognized by the neighbors. This tribute makes visible the community work that is done daily in the care of street dogs, by neighbors committed to the noble cause of protecting and returninger love for animals” commented the councilor.
The moment of the dog’s death is still remembered in City Bell and its story continues to be told in the neighborhood. Romeo died at the end of 2022 and the “Callejeritos” organization said goodbye to him with emotion.

“Romeo was a community dog. All the streets of City Bell are represented in his image,” Barbier added.
