“We have the right to live in a fair world,” he said. Mohamed Saadat, ambassador of Palestine in Mexico during his conference: “Free Palestine!”, given in the Division of Graduate Studies of the Faculty of Law of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí.

The diplomat emphasized the importance of the international community exerting pressure on the State of Israel and demanding a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, where the armed conflict began in October 2023. He considered that in order to advance the peace process, it is important to raise awareness about the impacts of genocide on the Palestinian people, as well as to demand sanctions for those who have perpetrated it.

In this regard, he shared with the attendees some figures and results of the armed conflict, which he said demonstrate “to what extent they are acting like savages!”:

● 265 days of aggression against the Palestinian people.
● 3,300 assaults.
● 36,796 Palestinians have been killed.
● 70% of the fatalities are children and women (15,694 children and 16,367 women).

The ambassador emphasized that it is not a coincidence that women and children are the main victims of the genocide, but rather part of a strategy that he called “ethnic cleansing” by the Israeli state p

to eliminate the Palestinian people. “They know that the buildings are full of children and women,” he condemned.

He highlighted that among the fatalities of the conflict there are also people involved in projects or organizations in charge of providing humanitarian assistance and he held Israel responsible for this.

People who try to bring humanitarian aid to Palestine are attacked or killed so that there are no witnesses to the crimes committed, he said, adding that, for example, some journalists have also been killed, as there is an interest in preventing the documentation of crimes committed against innocent civilians.

He explained that there are currently more than ten thousand missing people; and more than eleven thousand injured people who need to be transferred to receive medical attention and whose lives are in danger of death due to the impossibility of moving freely through the Palestinian territory.

The country’s infrastructure is in ruins, preventing people from receiving medical care, eating properly or simply staying safe.
