Early preventive warning declared in the RM due to rain

On this Saturday afternoon, the National Disaster Prevention and Response System (Senapred) declared preventive early warning in the Metropolitan Region, in consideration of the frontal system that will begin next Monday.

The Chilean Meteorological Directorate predicted normal and moderate wind gusts in the mountain range, starting Monday. Added to this is the rain forecast for the same day that will affect the entire MRI.

“In consideration of this background and in coordination with the Metropolitan Regional Presidential Delegation, the Regional Directorate of SENAPRED, declares Regional Preventive Early Warning for meteorological event, valid from today and until conditions warrant it,” explains Senapred on its website.

The declaration of the measure brings with it a reinforcement in monitoring risk conditions to act promptly in emergency situations.

• Coastal Mountain Range: 15-25 mm.
• Valley: 15-20 mm.
• Premountain range: 15-20 mm.
• Mountain range: 20-30 mm, with gusts of wind.
