In the midst of a creative crisis, the company would have chosen to recover the formula that worked so well for them in the Infinity Saga.

The imminent Phase 6 will culminate with two films about the Avengers, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. Both would have been left, presumably, without directors and scriptwriters, according to the latest rumors. But The House of Ideas would have found reinforcement in two old acquaintances.

The insider John Rocha confirmed on the podcast The Hot Mic that the scriptwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely They have been working for some time to get the franchise back on track. “Markus and McFeely have been unofficial advisors at Marvel for a few months now,” the communicator explains.

Markus and McFeely are responsible for Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, two of the company’s highest-rated films and which were the golden finishing touch to the Infinity Saga. In addition, they also wrote the scripts for the Captain America trilogy.

It is not clear that they will finally be personally in charge of the scripts of The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars. However, it does seem that they will at least participate in the creative decisions when developing the expected outcome. Something that is already being worked on, since in recent weeks information has suggested that the first of them would change its title and replace Kang with another great villain, probably Doctor Doom.

So far, everything is unconfirmed speculation and we will still have to wait a while to know the true intentions of Marvel with both films. The Kang Dynasty is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 1, 2026. Secret Wars, meanwhile, will hit theaters on May 7, 2027.
