Miles Morales’ Spider-Man faces anxiety in the new short film The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story, which is available online.
Sony Pictures Animation has released the short film The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story, which explores Miles Morales’ struggle with anxiety. This animated Spider-Man story was developed in collaboration with the Kevin Love Fund and will be integrated into the foundation’s new mental health lesson plan, “The Hero Within.”
In “The Spider Within,” Miles Morales faces the pressures of being a teenager, a friend, a student and Spider-Man. After a particularly challenging day, Miles experiences a panic attack that forces him to face his fears and learn that asking for help is not a sign of weakness.

The short film was developed and produced within the framework of the Leading and Empowering New Storytellers program of Sony Pictures Animation and Sony Pictures Imageworks. The program offers talent the opportunity to gain leadership experience in the field of animation.
Jarelle Dampier, director of “The Spider Within”, commented: “Miles represents many of us who struggle in our daily lives. We are not usually aware of everything we have been through until our own body forces us to become aware of it.”
“My intention is that ‘The Spider Within’ can inspire deeper conversations between friends and family about their own experiences with mental health,” adds Dampier. “I hope it’s like a love letter to Miles Morales fans.”
“The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story” was written by Khaila Amazan and produced by Michelle Raimo-Kouyate and David Schulenburg, creators of the LENS program.
The character will return with the third film.
The release date of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is yet to be confirmed after its original March 2024 release was delayed due to last year’s Hollywood strikes. But the story that was so interesting must continue. Since Spot is free and increasingly powerful and Miles Morales is on an Earth where there is a version of himself that is a villain.
While there are very interesting rumors about live-action Spider-Man 4 with actor Tom Holland as the protagonist. Well, they may start filming soon and it may hit theaters in 2026.
