The Star Wars universe is much larger and deeper than most fans imagine. Although it all started with the first trilogy (Episode IV, V and VI), it soon spread in different ways: two more trilogies and a good number of movies, series, books, comics, video games, etc.
Not all works have been dedicated to expanding the universe with new stories, some have preferred to fill gaps that were empty. The Clone Wars series, for example, did a magnificent job in this regard. Most fans attributed Vader’s knowledge to his use of intuition through the Force and/or to certain information that came to him at some point. The comic Darth Vader #6 (2015) finally gave us a clear answer free of interpretation: the bounty hunter Boba Fett He only needed to pronounce one name for the Sith Lord to connect the dots to reach that uncomfortable truth.

What happens in the vignettes is that Boba Fett, a bounty hunter that Darth Vader used to hunt down certain important targets, told him that he could not catch the person responsible for the destruction of the Death Star, but that he was able to obtain information about his name. : Skywalker.
The Sith Lord only needed to remember a couple of scenes from Revenge of the Sith and The Empire Strikes Back to discover that his wife Padme survived his wrath and died after giving birth to their children. At that exact moment he discovered the big lie of Palpatine, Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi and the Organa Family.
