Sony desperately needs it to be a success and this move does not invite optimism

The film that will also hit theaters in the United States on December 13 is ‘Kraven the Hunter’, new installment of Sony’s Marvel superhero universe around characters from the world of Spider-Man. Taking into account the failures of both ‘Morbius’ and, above all, ‘Madame Web’, the film starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson It needs to be a success so that this strange universe can be viable beyond the adventures of Venom played by Tom Hardy.
Against ‘Kraven the Hunter’ we also have the fact that It is already the fourth time that Sony delays its premiere, since it was first announced for release on January 13, 2023, then moved to October 6 of last year, later to August 30, 2024 and it seems that we will finally be able to see it on December 13. Until now, Sony had planned to release the new movie ‘Karate Kid’ on December 13, but it has been postponed to May 30, 2024. It is not clear if it has anything to do with when Netflix will release season 6 and finale of ‘Cobra Kai’ or if the film that will unite Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan has suffered some kind of mishap.

The problem is that Kraven’s really powerful story is in his confrontation with Spider-Man, and we already know there won’t be any of that here.
