It promises to be the most personal blockbuster of the year, but perhaps also one of the great failures of 2024
Francis Ford Coppola has decided that it was time to release the first trailer for ‘Megalopolis’, an ambitious science fiction film that has taken 42 years to make. The preview opts more for the line of using a clip of the title in question rather than a succession of images, but it more than fulfills its objective of making it clear that we are looking at a very special work.
A big bet from Coppola
Coppola himself has put the 120 million dollars budget and their biggest headache right now is finding a distributor. Right now there doesn’t seem to be many interested in having money for a promotional campaign to match, and we’ll see if that doesn’t lead to ‘Megalopolis’ ending up being a historic failure.

For now It is unknown when it will be released ‘Megalopolis’ in cinemas, but it is known that its world premiere will take place at the next Cannes Festival.
