Robin Hood He is one of the fictional characters that have influenced the most to Anglo-Saxon popular culture, and that also includes superheroes, where Hugh Jackman has made a career and is waiting for one last dance in Deadpool and Wolverine this summer. Afterwards, the Australian actor will travel to Sherwood Forest to star in The death of Robin Hood with Jodie Comer.

Jackman will thus join Kevin Costner and Russell Crowe, among other actors, taking on the role of the most famous archer in history, but he will do so in a somewhat darker version as the title of the film implies. And, as we read in Variety, the film will feature a Robin Hood dealing with his past after a life of crime and murder. Instead of the cheerful outlaw we all remember, The Death of Robin Hood presents a lonely man eaten away by so many years of battle who, seriously injured and in the hands of a mysterious woman, will have a chance to find redemption.

Robin Hood’s Logan?

Variety sees in this premise a kind of remake of Robin and Marian, with Sean Connery and Audrey Hepburn in the leading roles. I can’t help but see an attempt to bring the masterful Logan to the mythical character of Robin Hood.

The idea certainly sounds good and we know that, barring any surprises, the film will begin filming as soon as this coming February in the United Kingdom. Michael Sarnoski is in charge of directing the film, who already demonstrated, along with Nicolas Cage, that he has a good hand at telling stories of lonely men in Pig. The next A Quiet Place: Day 1 also features him behind the scenes.
