2023 was not just another year for superhero movies. After having established itself as a franchise synonymous with success with each delivery, Marvel Studios He saw two of his three projects shipwreck at the box office, with The Marvels’ audience failure being especially painful. Now, thanks to a Deadline investigation, we know how much the stumble cost disney.
Through a calculation that takes into account both income and expenses in various sections, including its distribution outside of movie theaters, Deadline estimates that The Marvels left losses worth $237 million. A nonsense that makes him be, in an unofficial way, the biggest fiasco of 2023. But it was not the only major blow to Disney’s interests during those 12 months.

Of course, Disney will take a while to forget 2023.
