DreamWorks Animationthe renowned studio behind animated classics like Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar, Megamind (Megamind – 2010), and the franchise How to Train Your Dragon (How to Train Your Dragon), is ready for its next big release. The feature film is titled wild robot (The Wild Robot) and a new preview of the project has recently been revealed.
Previously, we had been presented with the first preview and the official synopsis, which revealed that we would follow the life of Roz, a curious robot who explores an island and encounters the diversity of flora and fauna, generating a friendship with an orphan goose. Now, thanks to the new teaser trailerwe delve even deeper into this plot, which shows how a strange group of people will try to discover the whereabouts of the missing robot.
wild robot It has the script and direction of the filmmaker Chris Sandersrecognized for his work in films such as Lilo & Stitch (2002), How to Train Your Dragon (2010) and The Croods (2013). Sanders recently presented the film at the prestigious Annecy International Animated Film Festival, where he shared the inspiration behind the animation aesthetic: “We sought to evoke the kind of analog warmth and soul primarily associated with hand-drawn animation.”
One of the fundamental aspects of the feature film is the cast of artists who will lend their voices to the main characters. While the role of Roz will be interpreted by Lupita Nyong’o (A Quiet Place: Day One, Black Panther), the rest of the team is completed with Peter Pascal (The Fantastic Four, The Last Of Us), Catherine O’Hara (Home Alone, Beetlejuice), Kit Connor (heartstopper), Stephanie Hsu (Everything everywhere at the same time), Mark Hamill (Luke in Star Wars), Bill Nighy (Matter of time) and Ving Rhames (franchise of Mission Impossible).
Regarding working with Lupita Nyong’othe film’s director expressed: “I think I had the most intense discussion with her about a character I’ve ever had, because so much of Roz is in the voice. I loved that she resisted, I loved that she had things to say about building the character, and I loved that she made me work harder as a writer and as a director to get this where it needed to be.”
Wild Robot It would hit theaters on September 27, 2024.
