The two films shined despite the national team match
A Thursday holiday but with a national team match at night. One of the biggest releases of the year, arriving when a film is breaking it. Happened yesterday? A lot of people in the cinemas, except for the last show, but really a lot of people.
Despicable Me 4 premiered with a large number of 132,000 viewers as reported by Ultracine, but Intensely 2 maintained first place with almost double the number of admissions: 251,000
Between the two we have 383,000 tickets sold out of a total of 394,000 spectators in the country as a whole, which means that 97% of the spectators chose one of the two.
Last Monday, June 17, was the day with the highest attendance at the cinemas with almost 500,000 spectators. Possibly that figure will be exceeded on Friday the 21st or Saturday the 22nd as there are two family options that are fully in theaters.
June 20, 2019 was also a Thursday and logically a holiday, but I think that without a national team match and 522,000 tickets had been sold, that day neither more nor less the highest-grossing film in history was released in Argentine cinemas: Toy Story 4
