Shrek: Donkey will have his own movie. When will it be released?

Murphy stated that not only is a new Shrek movie in production, but Donkey, one of the most beloved characters in the saga, will have his own independent film. The statements came in an interview with Steve Weintraub of Collider, regarding Murphy’s next film, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F.

In his response, Murphy revealed: “We started doing Shrek 4 or 5 months ago. I did this, I recorded the first act and we’ll do it this year, we’ll finish it. Shrek is coming out and Donkey is getting his own movie. We will also do Donkey. So let’s do a Shrek and a [película] about Donkey”.

When asked if he was recording for both projects simultaneously, Murphy clarified: “No, not at the same time. I started recording Shrek, I think it will come out in 2025 and the next one will be Donkey.”
