“Today is a sad day for Rock N Roll.

It is with a heavy heart that we let the world know that we have lost our brother: CJ Snare, the rock and roll warrior, lead vocalist and founding member of FIREHOUSE.

CJ Snare passed away unexpectedly at his home on the night of Friday, April 5, 2024. He was a 64-year-old young man.

As you all know, CJ was expected to return to the stage with the band this summer after recovering from surgery.

We are all shocked by CJ’s untimely death.

CJ was undoubtedly one of the greatest vocal talents of a generation, touring the world with Firehouse non-stop for the past 34 years.

Our deepest condolences to the entire Snare family, Katherine Little, her friends and all our beloved fans around the world.

“Reach for the sky” CJ! You will be forever missed by family, friends, fans and your bandmates. Now you’re singing with the angels.”

About FIREHOUSE and CJ Snare

FIREHOUSE was formed in 1984 in Richmond, Virginia, and then moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where it was hired by Epic Records in 1989. The band reached stardom in the early 90s with singles such as “Reach For The Sky”, “Don’t Treat Me Bad” and “All She Wrote”, as well as her ballads “I Live My Life for You”, “Love of a Lifetime” and “When I Look into “Your Eyes.”

The history of FIREHOUSE dates back to 1984, when the guitarist’s band Bill Leverty, WHITE HEATwas looking for a drummer, a position he ended up occupying Michael Foster after about twenty auditions. While the group was not touring, Leverty and Foster visited rock clubs, where They met CJ Snare (Carl ‘CJ’ Snare) when he was performing with MAXX WARRIOR. After the dissolution of this group, Leverty asked Snare to sing some of his songs, with which he was finally recruited to the ranks of the band, which would end up taking the name FIREHOUSE, also joined by CJ’s bassist and partner Snare in MAXX WARRIOR, Perry Richardson.

In December 1989, Michael Caplan of Epic Records attended a FIREHOUSE concert in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he signed the band to a record deal.

CJ Snare, who was also a member of RUBICON CROSS, is the co-writer of most of the songs on FIREHOUSE. He placed seven of them on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, five of them in the top 40.
