Jon Bon Jovi He would make an important decision if he cannot recover from the operation he underwent almost two years ago for a problem with his vocal cords. And this situation continues to threaten to definitively cut short his career.

Shortly after the release of his most recent, “Forever,” the artist could put an end to his more than 30 years of experience in the music industry because is thinking about permanent retirement of the scenarios.

This is because the singer of “It’s my life” underwent a delicate intervention of the vocal cords to treat an injury. However, since then her voice has been affected, which is why she has not toured to promote her album. The musician explained that one of his vocal cords was “atrophying.”

One of my strings was as thick as a thumb, and the other was as thick as a little finger. So the stronger one pushed the weaker one aside and I didn’t sing well“, he revealed two months ago at a press conference in which he presented his new series called “Thank You, Good Night” (“Thank You, Good Night: The Story of Bon Jovi”).

“So, they were taking away the possibility of being able to continue with my job,” he said.

The musician then recalled that while navigating uncertainty, he was fortunately introduced to a surgeon who used “a state-of-the-art implant” to reconstruct the string. However, recovery was neither quick nor easy. In fact, the situation seems to be getting more complicated. The artist has not shown any improvement and, now, the possibility of leaving the stage has been considered if his vocal abilities do not return.

The 62-year-old singer was interviewed for the newspaper “The Sunday Times” and, although he acknowledged that it has not been easy for him, he explained that there is no going back: “This is the first time I have said this. If I can’t be the guy I once was (vocally speaking), then it’s over (his career).”

However, Jon also clarified that he is doing everything in his power to continue with his career. He is even attending therapy every day, but he is aware that performing for two hours straight in front of thousands of people requires a very great effort that he does not know if he can accomplish.

“I want to perform for two and a half hours every night, four nights a week, and I know how good I can be,” he said.

Despite his difficulties, Jon has one of the most impressive careers in the world of rock, together with his band he has made successful songs like “Livin’ on prayer”, “Always” and “I’ll be there for you”just to mention a few.

It is worth mentioning that the artist will talk about surgical intervention in the documentary series “Thank You, Good Night” (“Thank You, Good Night: the Story of Bon Jovi”). But the four-part production also narrates the 40-year career of the rock group led by Bon Jovi, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, it will premiere in the US on the Hulu platform on April 26 and during the year, it will be launched on Star + in Latin America and internationally on Disney +.
