Last Friday, Taylor Swift paralyzed the world with the release of his new studio album titled The Tortured Poets Department. In this LP, the artist poetically explores her six-year love relationship with Joe Alwyn with endless references and winks to other important and influential women in the world such as Clara Bow.
One of the many artists mentioned on Swift’s new album is the iconic Patti Smiththat apparently The mention was taken with surprise and good humor.. The song that gives its name to the album has a line that reads: “You’re not Dylan Thomas/ I’m not Patti Smith/ This ain’t the Chelsea Hotel/ We’re modern idiots.”
Smith responded to the pop star on Instagram, with a photo of her where she can be seen reading Thomas’s own collection of stories published in 1940 and titled Portrait of the Artist as a Young Dog.
Additionally, the 77-year-old singer-songwriter dedicated a few words to Swift in gratitude for including her in the song. “This means that I was moved to be mentioned in the company of the great Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. Thanks, Taylor.“, wrote.
