Noora Louhimo, lead singer of Battle Beast, shares how a recent health scare has changed her perspective on life and motivated her to take better care of herself.

Battle Beast’s Noora Louhimo: “It was a good wake-up call”

Noora Louhimothe renowned vocalist of Battle Beast, shared details about his recent health scare in an interview with Argentina’s Global Legends. The Finnish singer, 35, revealed in November that she was diagnosed with a rupture in her left carotid artery, which led to the postponement of the band’s tour.

Louhimo described how the diagnosis deeply impacted her: “It definitely scared me a lot, and other people did too,” she told Global Legends. According to doctors, this type of accident can happen to anyone. «If you cough too hard… I heard an example of a person who coughed too much and both of his veins burst. “This can happen to anyone, but I really want to prevent this from happening again, so I’ve started doing more warming up before singing and cooling down after, taking even more care of my overall health than before.”

Change of life perspective

This incident served as an alarm for Louhimo, who already maintained a healthy lifestyle. «But I still noticed that there were some things that I need to focus more on and put more effort into. So this was actually a very good wake-up call. And I also really appreciate life a lot more now. I am grateful for every day and every moment I have to live, love, see people. Being with my loved ones and my animals here at home. And now I can tour the places I’ve always dreamed of. And it’s not something you should take for granted.

Unexpected diagnosis

When Louhimo revealed his diagnosis five months ago, he wrote on social media: “I went for an exam due to a strange pain on the left side of my neck, throat, ear and chin. In the ultrasound examination, the doctor found the rupture that he had already begun to heal, and saved my life. She was hospitalized for further tests and the situation was finally confirmed. She was ordered to take a break from anything that could stress her or increase her blood pressure for the next month.

Louhimo joined Battle Beast in 2012 with no prior experience as a metal vocalist, but quickly settled in as the replacement for Nitte Valo (also known as Nitte Vänskä). Less than two years ago, Noora, who in 2021 released her debut solo album, “Eternal Wheel Of Time And Space,” under the banner of Noora Louhimo Experiencepublicly admitted that she had been struggling with eating disorders and her weight since she was “a little girl” and said she was “still trying to find a balance.”
