Ozzy Osbourne expresses his excitement at being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for the second time, this time recognizing his successful solo career.

The ceremony, which will be held on October 19 at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio, will also recognize other artists with various honors. Jimmy Buffett, MC5, Dionne Warwick and Norman Whitfield will receive the Musical Excellence Award; Alexis Korner, John Mayall and Big Mama Thornton will be honored with the Musical Influence Award; and Suzanne de Passe will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award.

The event will be broadcast live on Disney+. Additionally, an edited version will air on ABC at a later date and will be available on Hulu the following day.

Recognition for Ozzy Osbourne alone
Although Ozzy Osbourne and the rest of the original line-up of Black Sabbath were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2006, this year specifically recognizing the legendary heavy metal singer’s solo career.
To be eligible for this year’s voting, each nominee’s first single or album had to have been released in 1999 or earlier. Although artists are eligible for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25 years after the release of their first album, iconic hard rock and metal bands like Iron Maiden and Motörhead have not yet been recognized by the institution, which led to Guns N’ Roses in the first year of your eligibility.

In statements to BillboardOsbourne, 75, commented on her second induction: “It feels great. “I am more than honored.” Reflecting on his solo career, he added: “With every new musical adventure there is always a certain surprise when you see that the fans accept it, because nobody wants to make a record and have it be a failure. I feel like I was invited to a party in 1980, and it hasn’t stopped since. Not bad for a guy who was fired from his last band.
