This May 8th it will be released in Disney+ Let It Bethe 1970 documentary that recorded the creation and recording process of the album of the same name by the Beatles. That controversial film that showed the Fab Four at a critical moment in their work and personal relationship was the work of Michael Lindsay-Hogg and now you can see a restored version by Peter Jackson.

In 2021, the director of The Lord of the rings was sent with the documentary Get Back. Now, Beatles fans will have the opportunity to see this classic film within the history of the band, although also criticized by many for having shown the most intimate and uncomfortable aspects between them.

The Beatles – Let It Be

Regarding the premiere that will arrive next month, Ringo Starr He gave his opinion in dialogue with the Associated Press: “I think Peter Jackson has done an incredible job. (…) For me, there is not much joy in the original version. It is the director’s point of view and it is his decision. 56 hours of unreleased recordings were found and Peter Jackson put his heart and soul into it. It works very well”.

For his part, Jackson gave his perspective on the new version of the documentary: “The two projects support and improve each other: Let It Be is the climax of Get Backwhile Get Back provides a vital context that is missing in Let It Be. Michael Lindsay-Hogg helped me a lot while I was doing Get Back and it is only fair that his original film has the last word.”
