It is not the first time that the brothers Max and Igor Cavalera They re-record a classic album within the trajectory of Grave. A little over a year ago, they did the same with the albums ‘Bestial Devastation’, originally released in 1985, and ‘Morbid Visions’ from 1986. To close this brutal trilogy, there was only one piece missing that they have just revealed.
As reported Blabbermouththe brothers’ next project Cavalera will consist of re-recording ‘Schizophrenia’the second album by Grave and a classic in extreme metal. This was when the accelerated compositions of the beginning acquired a more mature and technical nuance. The new version of this cornerstone of the genre will arrive on June 21 through Nuclear Blast Records.
We have already found the first preview of this reissue in the video clip of “Escape To The Void”which features a live performance in room 013 in Tilburg, Netherlands, filmed by costin and Olivia Chioreanu in 2023.
Max Cavalera said the following about this release: “The Third World trilogy is finally complete with ‘Schizophrenia’, ‘Bestial Devastation’ and ‘Morbid Visions’, the three Brazilian underground gems! For me, ‘Schizophrenia’ is the ultimate death/thrash experiment. I was inspired to conquer the world and this recording proves that my commitment is relentless. This is for all generations to enjoy. Play it at full volume”.
Igor Cavalera commented for his part: “1987 was a very prolific year for metal, with releases like Celtic Frost’s ‘Into The Pandemonium’, Voivod’s ‘Killing Technology’ and Bathory’s ‘Under The Sign Of The Black Mark’, so it was no surprise how we approached it’ Schizophrenia’, pushing our limits from a black/death metal sound to a more thrash metal aesthetic. We still had some ideas from ‘Morbid Visions’ and some new songs. I am very proud of the composition and even more proud of our re-recordings”.

Specifically, they will pass through our country on 3rd of July by Pamplona Totem roomhe 4 of the same month by WiZink Center in Madrid and the 5th by the Barcelona Rock Fest festival in Santa Coloma de Gramenet.
