Jon Bon Jovi is asked how much money he would sell his musical catalog for: his answer is overwhelming – Up to date

In a new interview with legendary broadcaster Howard Stern on SiriusXM (via Blabbermouth.net), Bon Joviwho presents his new documentary ‘Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story‘, has been asked about how much money he would sell his musical catalog for. More than four years ago, his former partner Richie Sambora sold the rights to his music to the music investment fund Hipgnosis Songs.

The New Jersey singer’s vision is, however, somewhat different: “People often sell their catalogs, but it wasn’t something I had ever considered.”

Jon also admits that Richie’s sale has not changed the outlook for him: “If it’s a collaborative effort on any song, then your share of the licensing fees would go to whoever bought it.”“, said. “Mine is mine and, for anyone I’ve ever collaborated with, yours is yours.”

But how much do you sell it for?

However, if he were to sell his catalog, how much money would Jon Bon Jovi do it for? “for a lot“, he made clear, before emphasizing that “It’s all pure speculation.” And, when it comes to selling a catalog there are many factors at play, such as the popularity of the artist at the time of the transaction and the need that the artist has to sell it.

“I have no desire to sell it.””says Jon.

And his legacy?

When asked if he worries about what will happen to his songs after he dies, Jon responded: “By now, the songs will outlive us all. And that’s the beauty of rock and roll in general. You or I hear a song on the radio and remember where we first heard it and what that artist meant to us. We’ve been lucky enough to hear those kinds of songs and people say, ‘They’re my memories and I like them.’ So those songs will live on long after I’m gone. And that makes me happy.”

And, by the way, Jon Bon Jovi confirms it: there are people who have approached him to try to buy his catalog. Although, once again, the one from New Jersey makes it clear to all potential buyers: “I am not interested”.
