“We prefer to take our time with the new album, even an extra year”

“The longer people have to wait, the better the result will be,” says Silenoz.

The Norwegian Symphonic Black Metal group DIMMU BORGIR continues to develop its next studio album. The band released their last album six years ago, “Eonian”, and there is still no date for the future release.

The guitarist Silenoz Consider that there is no rush to get it out. In an interview with Rauta, he maintains:

“We’ve been working on the new material for quite some time. During the pandemic there was some downtime where we worked on things on our own, like individually, and then we got together and tried to brew a new brew, so to speak. The fans are like, ‘you have to release a new album’ and so on, but the thing is that we prefer to take our time and even take a extra year to do better than good. Obviously also We would like to release an album as soon as possible, but we are not going to do it“.

The musician adds:

“We hope to be active and have more new music to share with the fans – and new fans, of course, that’s our goal too – but yes, it takes a while. I think it’s safe to say that The longer people have to wait, the better the result will be.“.

Silenoz had previously reported that the orchestral aspect of the album was going to be toned down and considered that its sound could be “more primitive”.

DIMMU BORGIR told recently, at the Norwegian festival Inferno Festivalwith the participation of its former members ICS Vortex, Mustis and Tjodalv to perform the song “The Insight And The Catharsis“.

The last thing from DIMMU BORGIR was the album that compiles all their versions, “Inspiratio Profanus”edited by Nuclear Blast on December 8, 2023.

DIMMU BORGIR’s previous release was the remix and remaster of “Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia”.
