Former Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Samborahas stated that he is open to returning to the legendary lineup if Jon Bon Jovi’s vocal health improves to the point where he can tour again.
Sambora left the band – without prior notice – in 2013 to focus on his family. At that time, he was replaced by Phil X, which is still in training today. However, right now Jon Bon Jovi is still recovering from an extensive vocal cord operation that he underwent in 2022, given how compromised his speech system was at that time. The singer’s rehabilitation process, however, is taking longer than expected… and the vocalist may never tour again.
Now, during an interview on The Allison Hagendorf Show, Sambora has once again confirmed that, if they let him do it, he will return to the band once the singer recovers: “The fans would love it“says the guitarist.”It’s not finances that get in the way. It has nothing to do with that. The world could do with good. But, like Jon said, he’s had trouble with his voice. And now he had that operation where they put some plastic in his larynx. And it’s a dubious thing at best. I don’t know if anyone has had success after that procedure. “I’m not too sure about that.”

The guitarist revealed that he has been visited by Bon Jovi since his operation, adding that he and the singer spoke about his recovery process: “Physiologically, it seems almost impossible”admitted the guitarist. “Your brain has to teach this plastic thing how to work. It’s almost like you have to relearn how to speak, in a way.“.
Of course, if things go well, Sambora insists that he is more than willing to return to Bon Jovi: “I would definitely go“confirmed the guitarist. “If his voice comes back, I’ll go play too.”
Sambora’s new material was for Bon Jovi
In recent weeks, Sambora has also been releasing new music, his first material in almost a decade. Now, the ax explains that at least one of those new songs was intended for Bon Jovi.
