The successful Californian singer Billie Eilish has added a new record to her short career. On this occasion, at 22 years old, she has become the youngest performer to achieve one hundred million monthly listeners on Spotify, according to Billboard magazine.

With an Oscar award and nine Grammy awards, the singer is in the orbit of other performers such as The Weeknd, who has 107 million listeners per month, or Taylor Swift, who has reached 102, both greater than Eilish, says the magazine.

“Spotify has been a part of Billie’s story from the beginning. Since ‘Ocean Eyes’, her fan base has continually increased around the world,” Jeremy Erlich, global music director of the music platform, told the American media.

“What she and (her brother and collaborator) Finneas have achieved since 2016 is quite remarkable… and all this at the age of 22,” he added.

The young American currently has eight songs with million-dollar views on streaming platforms: “Lovely”; “Bad Guy,” “When the Party’s Over”; “Everything I Wanted”; “Ocean Eyes”; “Happier Than Ever”; “Idontwannabeyouanymore” and “Bury a Friend,” recalls Billboard, which has several music charts in its edition.

Eilish’s debut single, “Ocean Eyes,” hit the Billboard Hot 100 in 2018 and peaked at No. 84 the following year.

Since then, he has scored 42 more songs on the all-genre chart, and six of them reached the top 10, including 2019’s “Bad Guy,” which topped the chart in August of that year, the magazine says.
