Golden Child’s Yoon Chan Young and Jaehyun have shared their thoughts on their recent drama “High School Return of a Gangster”!
“High School Return of a Gangster” is a fantasy drama about a gangster whose soul accidentally enters the body of a high school outcast teenager. Since he always wanted to go to college, he forms a new friendship with a student who suffers from domestic violence and uses her skills to punish bullies.
Yoon Chan Young received praise for his performance in his dual role as Song Yi Heon, a 19-year-old high school outcast, and 47-year-old gangster Kim Deuk Pal, who ends up possessing Song Yi Heon’s body. His refreshing and impactful performance provided exciting entertainment every week, and his versatile performance, ranging from action scenes to jokes, left viewers in awe.
Yoon Chan Young commented, “Thanks to the interest and love of many, I had a happy and rewarding time. As with any project, there were difficult parts, but I think it was meaningful that we all worked together to get through them. I especially want to thank Se Kyung [Jaehyun]who was always by my side and was sincere in everything.”
He continued: “Even when the sky falls, there is always a way out. I sincerely hope that like Deuk Pal, you too will quickly overcome any test and achieve unlimited growth. “I thank all the viewers who loved ‘High School Return of a Gangster.’”
Jaehyun played the role of model student Choi Se Kyung, who has excellent grades, a neat appearance, and a good physique, but who also harbors invisible pain. Jaehyun improved the quality of the drama with her acting skills, and Choi Se Kyung’s portrayal of her, who overcame the pain of domestic violence, garnered enthusiastic support from viewers.
Jaehyun commented, “I learned a lot and received a lot of help while working with such fantastic actors and staff.” He added, “With this drama as a foundation, I want to become a limitless actor in my future acting career as well.”
