A group of important artists sent a letter demanding that Valentín Trujillo, a prominent national musician, be awarded the National Musical Arts Award, which he has never received.

The letter written by Mario Mutis, Gloria Simonetti, Claudio Narea, Javiera Parra and Joe Vasconcellos, and sent to La Tercera, is titled “Lost Opportunity.”

The text states that Tío Valentín deserves this recognition because “the State of Chile has missed time and again the opportunity to award him the National Prize for Musical Arts (…) Valentín Trujillo more than deserves that recognition. “He embodies the Chilean musician in the broadest sense of the word.”
