The charismatic drummer Dream Theater, Mike Portnoyis not one to mince his words when expressing his opinions. A few days ago he revealed to us your favorite album of the 21st centuryon this occasion he pointed out to us what for him is the “second best drummer for Slipknot” after the expulsion of Jay Weinberg.

In an interview with Brazilians Marcelo Vieira and Mateus Ribeiro, Portnoy He responded without mincing words to the question of whether he thinks that the current person in charge of the drumsticks, the formerEloy Casagrande’s burialis “the perfect drummer for Slipknot”.

These were his words: “For me if. Eloy really… Well, not really. The perfect drummer for Slipknot would have been my son, Max Portnoy. But the second best drummer for Slipknot, behind Max, is definitely Eloy. I mean, he fits perfectly, he’s the perfect choice. He has incredible technique, but beyond technique, he plays with a lot of spirit, balls and personality. And sometimes, for me, that is much more important than technique. But in his case, he has both. He has everything”.

Portnoy He also welcomed the replacement of Big house in Grave: “I couldn’t be happier for him. And I’m also happy for Greyson Nekrutman, who took his place in Sepultura, because he’s another one of my favorite modern drummers. So that kind of triangle between Sepultura, Slipknot and Suicidal Tendencies, with Jay Weinberg going to Suicidal Tendencies, is the perfect metal triangle. I think those three drummers are tremendous, and they have all achieved great feats”.

Max Portnoyfor his part, at twenty-five years old has already played drums for bands such as Tallah either Code Orange.
