Aiden Fucci always told his friends that he was going to kill someone. On May 8, 2021, the 14-year-old teenager fulfilled his macabre ‘promise’.

Aiden lured 13-year-old Tristy Bailey to a wooded area in his town, Durbin Crossing, St. Johns County, Florida, and savagely stabbed her. There was no reason; She just wanted to know what it felt like to see someone bleed to death.

The family of the young cheerleader and Aiden’s classmate reported her missing that same day. When she was found, she had been stabbed 114 times and she had 49 defensive wounds to her head, hands and arms. In addition, the attacker’s DNA was found on her body.

Another key piece of evidence was that the two teens were seen walking together on surveillance video on the day of Tristy Bailey’s disappearance. He was later seen in footage running alone.

Fucci, who lived about a half-mile from where the body was found, was arrested that same night while the search for Tristyn was still ongoing.

The most absurd thing about it is that while he was sitting in the back of a patrol car, he took a selfie and posted it on Snapchat with the message: “Hey guys, has anyone seen Tristyn lately. We’re having fun, in a f*cking police car,” Fucci said as he looked into the camera and smiled.

Before his trial began in February 2023, the young man pleaded guilty to first-degree murder for stabbing Tristyn and leaving his body in the woods at the end of a cul-de-sac south of Jacksonville, Florida.

During the court process, investigators revealed that Aiden had told his friends that he planned to kill someone, although it was unclear whether the teenager was his target from the beginning.

A teenager identified as Fucci’s “best friend” told authorities that he had violent obsessions and they were a way of channeling his violent and neglectful home life.

Additionally his mother, Crystal Smith, was charged with tampering with evidence for allegedly washing blood from her jeans….the evidence against her was overwhelming.

At trial, Fucci wrote a letter expressing remorse to the family for fatally stabbing Tristyn. But he never directly apologized. “I know my apology won’t fix anything or bring her back, but I hope she helps in some way,”

“Please don’t think for a second that he could be rehabilitated at any time. He is beyond saving,” Tristyn’s mother, Stacy Bailey, told the court.

“This was not done out of greed, it was not done out of retaliation, retribution or revenge… It was not done in a fit of uncontrollable rage. There was no reason. “It was done for the sole reason of satisfying this defendant’s internal desire to feel what it was like to kill someone,” were the words of Judge R. Lee Smith, when handing down in March 2023 the life sentence against Aiden Fucci, who He was spared the death penalty because he was a minor.
