After several weeks of increases, the National Petroleum Company (ENAP) announced this Wednesday a significant drop in gasoline prices, diesel and liquefied vehicle gas (LPG).
From Today, Thursday, May 23, 93 and 97 octane gasoline will experience a decrease of $30.1 per liter, while the price of diesel oil will be reduced by $22 per liter. On the other hand, the price of liquefied vehicle gas (LPG) will remain unchanged.
The price reduction is mainly attributed to the drop in the price of oil in international markets, along with the impact of the Fuel Price Stabilization Mechanism (MEPCO).
The MEPCO is a tool designed to smooth out sudden variations of the price of oil in the domestic market, using fiscal funds reserved for this purpose.
Announced price adjustments will be in effect for the next three weeks, until June 12, 2024.
The main changes in the price of gasoline:
- 93 Octane Benzine: It dropped $30.1 per liter.
- 97 Octane Benzine: It dropped $30.1 per liter.
- Diesel oil: It dropped $22 per liter.
- Vehicular LPG: It will maintain its current price.
The new prices They will come into effect starting this Thursday, May 23.
