All the support that the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) has provided to Cuba in terms of training, “to be able to face the challenges we have in terms of the country’s energy transformation,” was recognized by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, when receiving Andrés Rebolledo Sitmans, executive secretary of OLADE.

At the meeting – in which the Minister of Energy and Mines, Vicente de la O Levy – also participated, the Head of State expressed the willingness of the Cuban energy sector to participate in any of the proposals and projects that OLADE carries out in the region. .

«We know that they are working on the issue of digital transformation in Latin America and the Caribbean, also on the development of renewable energy sources. From our modest position, count on Cuba for everything you want to do,” the president stressed.

The Executive Secretary of OLADE described the dialogue as a great opportunity, as well as holding in Havana the lxith ordinary session of the Board of Experts of the cooperation, coordination and technical advisory body that he directs.

Rebolledo Sitmans expressed to Díaz-Canel the satisfaction of attracting, for this meeting, 25 delegations from the 27 countries that make up OLADE. The truth – he considered – is that it has been a very outstanding meeting, with a lot of participation, with many desires to continue cooperating between us and advance energy integration.

The lxith ordinary session of the Board of Experts, which meets in Havana until today, constitutes the prelude to the Meeting of Energy Ministers of Latin America and the Caribbean, which will be held in October, in Paraguay.
