With the placement of a wreath at the foot of the funerary monument of the hero Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, a representation of the people of Santiago paid tribute today in this city to the considered Father of the Cuban Homeland.
Floral gifts were also placed in the crypt that protects the remains of the National Hero of Cuba, José Martí, and the monolith that treasures the ashes of the Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro, Historical leader of the Cuban Revolution.
Beatriz Jonhson, first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba here, and Governor Manuel Falcón went to the patrimonial cemetery of Santa Ifigenia, followed by dozens of people from Santiago, including political, student and social organization leaders.
As is tradition in Santiago de Cuba, on Father’s Day tribute is paid to the founders of the nation, as a symbol of admiration and respect for those who put the Homeland at the level of paternal love.
