Penalties for not paying the tax

When the declaration of the Motor Vehicle Tax is not submitted within the maximum period established for declaring and paying, the penalty for late filing will be 1.5% per month or fraction of a month of delay on the value of the tax due, without exceeding 100% of the tax. It is important to remember that the applicable sanction is the one in force at the time of filing the declarations; In all cases, no penalty can be less than the minimum applicable penalty, which, for the year 2024, is 7 UVT ($329,000) for all motor vehicles.

It should be remembered that in accordance with paragraph 1 of Resolution DDI-007386 of May 6, 2022 he Full payment of late declarations must be made within the following five (5) business days. upon its virtual completion, under penalty of the declaration being deemed not to have been submitted. Once the specified period has expired, without the full payment having been made, the declaration completed virtually will be automatically cancelled.

On the other hand, when it is necessary to correct vehicle tax returns for higher value, that is, When a value lower than the corresponding amount is declared and paid, the correction penalty will be 10%. of the highest value payable that is generated between the correction and the initial declaration, as long as the correction is made before a notice to correct is issued.

What if you didn’t receive the invoice?

Similarly, Bogotá’s total tax collection amounts to $9.15 billion, regarding the goal of $14.65 billion budgeted for this period.
