The diplomat David Cairns was designated as new Great Britain Ambassador to Argentina. The British crown announced through an official statement on Tuesday, May 6.
Cairns will assume its functions in September 2025. It will do it instead of Kirsty Hayeswho, in turn, will continue to fulfill functions for the British government, according to the information that was made known through different official channels.
The new British ambassador comes from fulfilling a mission as a diplomat in the same role but in Stockholm, capital of Sweden, where he served as an ambassador of His Majesty and director of the Baltic Nordic Network.
The official also has a tour of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Great Britain that began in 1993. From there he exercised different functions in three continents for the diplomacy of the British Crown.

Indeed, David Seldon Cairns He joined the Security Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Great Britain in 1993 and worked in that role until the following year.
In 1995 he moved to Tokyo, Japanwhere he performed as second commercial secretary of the British Crown Foreign Ministry.
-His career continued in the European Unionwhere he exercised as head of public diplomacy, between 1999 and 2000.
From there, Cairns assumed as private secretary of the Scotland baroness and mastersin the following two years until 2002.
In Geneva, Switzerland, Cairns served as secretary of the World Trade Organization (WTO). He worked there until 2006. That year he returned to Tokyo in condition of director of Commerce and Investment of the British Foreign Ministry and remained in that position until 2010.
His career continued as Director of Real Estate, Security and Corporate Services, a role he met until 2014.
It was at that time that Cairns traveled to Stockholm, to assume at the head of the British crown embassy in the Nordic country. It was the last position he occupied before his last designation in Argentina.
