After long discussions, yesterday, there was no progress in the meeting between the Automotive Tram Union (UTA), the Business Chambers and the Ministry of Labor and today there will be unemployment of more than 300 AMBA groups. The guild that represents collective drivers seeks a salary improvement, which was rejected by entrepreneurs. The government, meanwhile, refused to increase subsidy items for the sector and spoke of “extortion unemployment.” In this context, the last negotiation instance fell.
Hours before the meeting with the government and the businessmen, from the union they had confirmed that the force measure was still standing and that the efforts to deactivate them were useless. “There will be no agreement,” said Uta’s union secretary Gabriel Gusso. “They have no hope because government policy is to maintain one percent to standardize” the peers and “then there will be no agreement,” he explained in radio statements.
The government’s strategy to use wages as an inflationary anchor increases social conflict. The Government sought to disassemble the strike, but with the mandatory conciliation already fulfilled, which even made it impossible for the UTA to join the general strike of the CGT of April 10, the margin of maneuver was minor.
