That is three Leon examples and today a day will serve to publicize all this activity.
Thus, the Conference Cycle of the absent heritage about the dispersed cultural heritage of Castilla y León, promoted by the Nostra et Mundi of the Castilla y León Foundation with the aim of continuing to disseminate the valuable cultural heritage of the community and its presence in the world. The president of the Courts of Castilla y León, Carlos Pollán, will be in charge of welcoming the event, organized in collaboration with the San Isidoro Museum, which will be held at the Royal Emblematic Collegiate of San Isidoro, at 7:00 p.m.
During the meeting, free access to the general public, Francisco Prado Vilar, professor of art history at the University of Santiago de Compostela, will give the presentation a lion of San Isidoro in the Louvre: Fragments for a new vision of the northern cover. The day will explore the history and meaning of a key piece of the Leonese heritage that is currently in the Louvre Museum, offering new perspectives on its origin and artistic value. Recently, thanks to the research work of Francisco Prado Vilar, the Louvre Museum in Paris has rectified the cartel of this sculpture to indicate its origin of the facade of the collegiate of San Isidoro de León, one of the most prominent Romanesque architectural ensembles in Spain.
The project seeks that all these works that, for different reasons, today are distributed throughout the world, are recognized where they are preserved by the community that gave rise to them, and enhance, from this, the Castilla y León brand. Nostra et Mundi has the support of prestigious partners such as the University of Valladolid, the University of Burgos, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando and Global Heritage.
