The EUMC Real Valladolid Basketball fell clearly overcome in his visit to the Pumarín of an Alimerka Oviedo Basketball (105-69) who sent from beginning to end and that broke the game in the third quarter. The Blanquivioleta did not have the night and nothing came out in attack, defense or in the fight for the rebound, unlike the Ovetenses, unleashed from the perimeter (15/35 in triples), more intense and that took advantage of the last quarter to give a feast. Without Maj Kovacevic due to injury, the Valladolid team could not follow the rhythm and yielded on a day in which, at least, the rest of the direct rivals for the permanence did not add either.
The visitors, from more to less, endured the starting pull before a tremendously accurate rival since the ball was thrown into the air. Samkelo Cele capitalized the first possessions of the UMC RVB and put the first seven points of the Blanquivioleta to match the good Ovetense start (7-7). With more success and finding better shooting situations, those of Javi Rodríguez brought the singing voice at the beginning of rhythm, intensity and points. In addition to the problems in defense to contain Alimerka Oviedo, the Pucela suffered to close the rebound and the premises relied on the second opportunities and their success to escape gradually.
The fourth triple Carbayón, the work of a Valinotti that left to 9 points, forced Iñaki Martín to ask for the first dead weather of the clash to stop the Ovetense escape (20-11). Nothing is further from reality. The third brave of three of the Argentine base caused those of the Pumarin to practically bend to the visiting team (25-13) and the fifth of the Asturians put a maximum of 15 points (28-13), but the emergence and spot connection cut distances in the final stretch of the first quarter (28-19).
Taking into account that the Ovetense team had scored 6 triples (12 attempts) and bent in rebounds to the Valladolid (12-6), that the disadvantage was below 10 was good news. But the shy Pucelana reaction was there. Those of Javi Rodríguez continued with more activity behind and success to reopen the gap (33-19) before an UEMC RVB stuck that did not find the road to the hoop.
But the Castilians resisted on the day of their community. The squirrels endured the chaparrón and found a route of annotation with the bonus from Alimerka Oviedo Basketball, who arrived to condition his aggressive defense and with five minutes for playing until the break (35-23). Little by little, without making much noise or large partials returned to the rebuild the EUMC RVB (41-33), although again the success of the Carbayón perimeter and the offensive rebound moved the locals away. The tenth of the Asturian team (23 releases … for only one of the squirrels) fell to give them another stretch and this time they kept the rent until the break (48-33).
Oviedo breaks in the third quarter
It was an important disadvantage, yes, but not insurmountable, even more taking into account the last comebacks of the UMC RVB and the unusual success of Alimerka Oviedo Basketball. If the chaparrón sent there, there could be options, although those of Iñaki Martín had to improve and much in attack and the time of closing the rebound. Too many pending subjects and points received that did not find a solution after passing by changing rooms. On the contrary.
Javi Rodríguez’s team resumed several marches over an EMEMC RVB that could not stop the meorrhagia of the perimeter or found order in attack. Thus, a 10-2 partial in a seen and not seen put land in between between both teams and forced Iñaki Martín to stop the duel just three minutes after the break (58-35). But there was no reaction, neither the Asturian team gave rise to it nor the Castilians could react. Those of Javi Rodríguez smelled the blood and made box to face the last ten minutes with the game in his hand (72-48).
Without options and reserving forces for the last final of the season, which will face the Pucelanos in just 72 hours, the EMC RVB capitulated and ended up falling for 105-69 during his visit to the Alimerka Oviedo Basketball, which took a feast. The comfort, if possible, is that the rest of the direct rivals for permanence did not add and the fight remains the same in the absence of only three days to be played.
