After a painful defeat like the one suffered by Barça against MonacoLeyma Coruña had two options: o Take advantage of the Barca hangover to get a valuable victory, or pay the broken dishes of European elimination. And chose the first. After a second quarter where they came to overwhelm Barça, between Taylor, Barrueta and Huskic they managed to endure at the end. They suffered, they would only be missing, but they can continue dreaming of a complicated permanence. Barça, still with the mind in Monaco, lost a golden opportunity to approach Unicaja and achieve the track factor in the playoffs.
Barça tolerated the physical and mental wear of the match against Monaco in the first ten minutes, but sank in the seconds. He started the game abusing Triple (Leyma Coruña floated a lot to the Catalan exteriors), but suffering against Silins inside. Nor knew how to defend Taylor’s direct blockade. With Willy left over in attack, who built the first solid advantage was Raúl Villar. Excellent minutes of Barça Junior (7 points). Two brizuela losses made up the score before the first break.
The second quarter started in a kind of triple contest that was carried out Leyma Coruña. With percentages above fifty percent and Fall dominating inside, the outer shot was an excellent resource for the locals. They got quickly ahead, took advantage of the rude azulgran losses and signed an imposing partial: 34 points in ten minutes, to go to rest very much (57-45).
The Barca shipwreck, at all levels, continued after the break. It was no longer just a matter of success (67-51), but of sensations. Barça’s defensive mismatches were calamitoso, they threw two airballs followed and were lower in the defensive rebound. Coruña, on the other hand, liked it. A tunnel, passes without looking, clean triples … the colista was clearly superior to the Catalans.
Things, however, began to change in the third quarter. Parker scored more easily, the Catalans did not forgive from the free kick and improved in defense. The bleeding of points diminished and approached a much more manageable 75-67. Still behind, obviously, but already on the prowl of Leyma Coruña.
Everything that entered the locals at the beginning stopped doing it at the end; Here there was also Barça’s merit, dilapidating the up to 16 points that came to have (75-73). The good work of Huskic and the Triple of Barrueta kept Coruña ahead, with everything open to one and a half of the end (84-83). A triple of Brizuela, with the almost determined game, added spicy at the end (90-88), but a bad decision of Parra, who had to pull three and scored two, ended up condemning Barça.
