As reported by the organization, these libraries will fill the Madrid Paseo de Recoletos with thousands of specimens, whose prices range between one euro to thousands of euros of “authentic bibliographic jewels”, as first editions, incunable, specimens and original manuscripts and manuscripts.
In that sense, the president of the Lance of Lance Association of Madrid, María José Blas Ruiz, stressed that this fair has become the “most important that is celebrated in Spain within her specialty, both by sales volume, as for variety and quality of the copies that are offered.”
Apart from the second -hand and discontinued books, who visit the fair will also be able to acquire “an important selection” of old volumes, first signed editions, incunable, original manuscripts, engravings, maps, rare editions, newspapers and magazines, comics, paper collecting and occasion books.

The old book and occasion fair in Madrid will officially open on Saturday, at 12.30 pm, with the public reading of the traditional proclamation, which this year will pronounce the poet and novelist Benjamín Prado.
The illustrator and screenwriter Teresa Valero has taken care of the design of the commemorative poster of this year’s edition, which “reflects the union of two women, one of the past and one of the present, through the reading of an old book” by Antonio Machado (1875-1939), of whom this year is commemorated the 150th anniversary of his birth.
Teresa Valero herself explained that on the poster one of the two women, almost a hundred years ago, reads the book in a sorrowful atmosphere while the poet writes behind her. “At the same time, the other woman,” who enjoys peace and the party that supposes the spring party, discovers that, in the same space she occupies now, things were very different not so much. “
Following the tradition, the Lance Lancero Association has published a book in facsimile edition and related to Madrid, which during the fair will be available in the information booth. The title chosen this year has been ‘La Guerra’, by Antonio Machado, the last text published in the author’s life.
Presented by Luis Alberto de Cuenca, this careful edition recovers the original texts of the work, as published in 1937, but with a new interpretation of the illustrations of José Machado, by the cartoonist, cartoonist, illustrator and cartoonist Raúl Fernández Calleja, known as Raúl, which has also designed a special folder, numbered and signed by hand, with a selection of 12 of his 50 drawings.
On the other hand, they will organize ‘on Saturdays of Recoletos’, in which during the morning of the three Saturdays of Feria Teresa Valero will sign posters in the information house, together with the aforementioned Raúl, which will go between Saturday and May 17 to sign copies of the Machado’s book and make drawing live.
Finally, different free historical walks coordinated by Juan Carlos González, of Carpetania Madrid will be organized, in which we will talk about the relationship of the Paseo de Recoletos and the books.
