Mariela Mendoza says she will continue to promote reading anywhere, because in every corner, there is someone who needs a book.
The book search engines project has origin in a family history.
14 years ago, Mariela Mendoza, its director and founder, decided to accompany her daughter in the educational process reading stories and other literary activities in the classroom.
Then, along with a friend, with whom she shares the passion for reading, they took those days of literature to the street. Everything arose in a phone call.
Currently, Mariela not only looks for books to give away, but exchanges them with other reading lovers.
It also makes social days in communities, builds mini libraries and undertakes projects to take the texts to the sectors where you need to read the most.
Book search engines also exchange texts for school supplies, thus, through a modest contribution, the book is given value and help children with at least 100 school combos per year.
Through the message “more readers better citizens”, Mariela Mendoza says she will continue to promote reading anywhere. A place, a school, a market. In every corner, says Mariela, there is someone who needs a book.
Mariela Mendoza is an ambassador of reading in the Bolívar state. In an emotional conversation, he spoke with Primicia about his experience that is almost an apostolate.
