In the Integral Center Aercle a reader point was inaugurated, where the community will be able to use these texts freely.
April is known as the month of the book, mainly because the 23rd is celebrated World Book and Copyright. And Santo Tomás always executes activities that motivate reading among their students.
That is why this year he carried out three actions that celebrated the gift of reading. He began the commemorations with an independent editors fair in the hall of building 91. In addition, he developed the launch of the book «Speech records: Locutions, sayings and proverbial phrases of the province of Llanquihue», by the regional writer Marlene Bohle Maldonado, in the Tomasino space, and then closed the month with the inauguration of the reader point in the Integral Center.
Sandra Carrasco Maraboli, Chief of Library of Santo Tomás Puerto Montt, comments on the activities executed at the Tomasina headquarters. “This year the launch of the book ‘Speech Registry´’ was supported by the local writer Marlene Bohle. This activity was carried out in conjunction with the medium, and through them with the Regional Library of Los Lagos. In addition, the fair and exhibition of books of independent editors were executed in two days, which seeks to buy books that are in the market or sometimes are more limited editions already limited quite reasonable prices. As for the book, Marlene Bohle is a teacher and has written poetry, narrative and dramaturgy. His work contains almost 2000 phraseological units of speech verified by the author after an extensive investigation by the province of Llanquihue, and has the purpose of inviting to value this linguistic cultural heritage of southern Chile and leaving a record that preserves it for the new generations of speakers. The book includes many phrases and phrases that invite us to laugh, but also to be amazed with the ingenuity and mischief of our orality, and the depth of popular wisdom present in the sayings and that is why it captivated the interest of the Tomasina community in its launch.

In the midst of the book celebration, the Alerce Integral Center installed a reader point thanks to the work between linking with the Regional Library of Los Lagos. It is a physical space dedicated to reading or will facilitate the reading of texts.
Andrea Brunet Hrdalo, director of the Regional Library of Los Lagos, comments that “we consider that the readers are significant spaces so that the population can approach reading and literature in unconventional places, that is to say outside the library, as is the case of the Alfle Integral Center, where the community will be able to make use of these books and appropriate knowledge and reading in order to train readers and readers.”
