During the presentation they will participate Eliseo Talancancha Crespo, The poet José Luis Ayala and the writer Carlos Portugal Mendoza. The event will have a presentation Musical by “The Brothers of Ande”, by Huaraz. In addition, there will be a biographical semblance of José Vorallanos and a draw of books among the participants.
About the book
Throughout eleven essays and articles, “presence” in his volume II, the fundamental thesis of Vorallanos: Peruvian identity and becoming is Andean and mestizo. With great authority, as a reviewer and critic of indigenismo seeks to crumble fictional constructions about the Indian, miscegenation and the Andes. In this posthumous book, Vorallanos revalue and brings again the presence of authors who have been occupied or forgotten over time or by political-social circumstances. The author highlights, reviews, urges, denounces, criticizes, teaches and praises the positions of the exponents of Peruvian literature with a great humanistic sense.
About the author
José Vorallanos. He is a Peruvian intellectual born in Huánuco and is considered within the centenary generation. He was born in the city of Huánuco on March 20, 1907. He was the son of Andrés Vara Cadillo and Nicolasa Llanos Vargas. In 1926 he entered the National University of San Marcos where he graduated as a bachelor in History, Philosophy and Letters, Bachelor of Law, Lawyer and Doctor of Public Law. He exercised law in Huancayo between 1937 and 1939. In 1940 he returned to Lima to devote himself to his profession of laws. In 1956 he was elected senator by the department of Huánuco. Throughout his ninety years, he developed intense intellectual activity as a jurist, historian, politician, poet. He is known for being the author of the monumental “History of Huánuco”. He died in Lima on January 1, 1997.
