Alberto Linero presents a book about his resignation to the priesthood and the way to personal reconstruction

The former Samario Samario launched “Breaking me was just a beginning”, a based on his experiences after leaving the Catholic Ministry.

The communicator and ex -the Alberto Linero presented at the Bogotá Book Fair his new book, breaking me was just a beginning, a work of personal confessions in which he recounts his of rupture with religious life and the search for meaning in the midst of loneliness, doubt and fear of .

In the text, Linero reveals that his decision to abandon the priesthood did not obey a crisis of faith, but to emotional wear and tear and his disagreement with certain institutional dynamics of the Church. “I went from loneliness,” he says, explaining how, despite his fame and the thousands of faithful who followed him, I felt he did not have a close that really took care of him.

Although he was never pastor of a church, the former religious lived surrounded by people. However, moments of crisis, as an episode of health in which he did not find who attended it, led him to question his lifestyle and role within the institution. It was then that he decided that he needed a radical change.

Linero emphasizes that his departure from the ministry was difficult and charged with uncertainty, especially in the workplace. However, he maintained his faith intact and found in writing a way to process his experiences and share a message of authentic hope: “It is not a naive hope, but a conviction that it is possible to move forward, even in the midst of pain.”

In addition to addressing his personal experience, the author reflects on the current social context, marked – according to him – by polarization, distrust and pessimism. In this sense, his work proposes a call to rebuild life from vulnerability and emotional honesty.

Although it is no longer part of the clergy, Linero ensures that he maintains a relationship with the Church and that his decision was more a transformation of life than a definitive breakup. “I took care of many, but I forgot to take care of myself,” he concludes.

With this new publication, the author seeks to accompany those who are going through personal crises and demonstrate that, after a break, there is always the possibility of starting again.
