The director of the Emergency Operations Center (COE), the retired general Juan Manuel Méndez, reported four dead and 26 people affected by traffic accidents during the holiday of Holy Week.
Méndez explained that the majority of road incidents involved motorcycles, with 22 reported cases. There were also 2 accidents with light vehicles and 1 with a jeepeta.
Of these accidents, 11 occurred on highways and roads, while 14 took place in urban centers.
The headline clarified that, of the four deaths, two were registered within the security operation installed by the agency and two out.
-In addition to traffic accidents, the authorities reported a case of immersion asphyxiation, occurred in a spa that had previously been closed.
The National Health Service also offered data on medical care related to the operation. 84 people were treated for alcohol poisoning and 13 by food poisoning. Additionally, assistance was provided to a person who suffered asphyxiation by immersion.
Those killed by traffic accidents, within the operation, are Oscar Ernesto Acosta Minaya, 26, and Martin García de los Angeles, 30.
Also due to traffic accident, outside the operation, Santos Julio Cabrera Toribio, 32, and Ernesto Vallejo died, 22. Due to drowning, Wilson Dovil, eight years old.
